DOMINICAN MISSION TRIP (JULY 2012)
This past July, Tristan and his teammates and friends from Team FCA Loganville, returned to the Dominican Republic to use the platform of baseball to show and share the love of Jesus Christ. Through GiveOneGlove.com, Tristan was able to donate 50 gloves, two sets of catcher’s gear, batting gloves and 10 batting helmets to FCA Coach Mike Shaheen. Team FCA Loganville also donated their FCA uniforms at the end of the week. Coach Shaheen will use this equipment to reach out to the coaches and young men of the Dominican Republic in the name of Jesus Christ. But this trip was about more than baseball. After each game, Team FCA Loganville players shared their testimony. They also help deliver and install water filters in a sugarcane village and played baseball with young boys at a orphanage in San Pedro. A visit to the village of La Duquesa, where most young men their age survive by living off the Santo Dominigo landfill, made a lasting impression on boys while they played with many of the village children.
